Remember the old saying, first impressions are lasting impressions.  Well the first impression many of your potential buyers will get of your home is when they see the advertising for it.  This means having great looking photos is one of the most important marketing steps to selling your home.

With the internet providing buyers a great way of seeing a property they may be interested in, from the comfort of their home or office, you need to display yours as best you can.  If you have great looking photos, it instantly builds interest and excitement in the buyer who may wish to view the property at an open.

So how is the best way to present your property for photos?  The way you prepare and present the property will help the photographer to capture your place in the best possible way.

In the kitchen, keep bench tops as clear as possible with only a few appliances in view.  A fridge door full of photos, bills, magnets and kids drawings can make even the most spacious kitchen look cluttered.

It’s the same in the bathroom, put away soaps, shampoo bottles and towels.  These items can appear to clutter the room.

Outside, it is important to have the grass mowed and the gardens looking neat and tidy.  Don’t leave clothes on the washing line and if possible, fold the clothes line away.  Any pets, toys, pool equipment and kids toys should be out of view also as these things take the focus away from what your buyers are looking at, your beautiful home.

Most importantly, make sure your house is clean.  Marks on tables and bench tops, windows, carpets and furniture show up clearly, ruining what may be a perfect photo.
